The Tax Assistance Program is a unique nonprofit organization — innovation pervades our approach.

We get results. TAP connects families with tangible economic opportunities. Our services are simple, straightforward, and impactful because we focus on our clients, families, and volunteers.

We serve a unique clientele. We assist working families who are not eligible for many of the services offered by other nonprofit and government-based organizations, simply because they have earned income.

We are efficient. For every $1 that goes into the program, $29 get returned back to the communities we serve.

We have a solid foundation of volunteer professionals. Year after year, we recruit an incredible group of knowledgeable and dedicated volunteers from many of Chicago’s most respected corporations. Over half of our volunteers have an advanced degree, and thus offer our clientele an incredible wealth of human capital.

We collaborate equally with community groups and corporations. We partner with and draw resources from some of the country’s most dynamic nonprofit agencies and successful businesses. We unite civic-minded and progressive corporations with effective service agencies to reach those who stand to benefit the most.
