Tax Assistance Program - Financial Strategies for Working Families

how we help

Many factors prevent families from escaping the cycle of poverty. We developed the Financial Literacy Program in FY 2002-03 to assist low-income families as they move toward economic self-sufficiency. Through this program, working poor families are equipped with the tools to:

  • pay for postsecondary education,
  • take control of their finances, and
  • reduce their debt.

TAP believes that it is vital to match the immediate assistance that our Tax Preparation Program provides with skills and strategies that establish enduring self-reliance for our clients.
