TAP encourages volunteerism among the best and brightest of the corporate workplace. Our volunteers come from some of Chicago’s largest banks, the local offices of Fortune 500 companies, and all of the Big 4 accounting firms.

Participating employers include Accenture, Aon, Baker & McKenzie, Chapman and Cutler, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, Grainger, Grant Thornton, Harris Bank, HSBC, JPMorgan Chase, KPMG, Kraft, LaSalle Bank, McDermott Will & Emery, Northern Trust, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Tribune Company.

TAP’s 1,700 volunteers are required to undergo detailed and thorough tax and financial aid training:

  • The tax training program, which is IRS-approved, covers common tax credits and other issues addressed on our clients’ returns.
  • Our Higher Education Access Initiative training program was developed in part by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC), an agency created by the State of Illinois in 1957 to broaden access to and simplify processes for postsecondary attendance.

The Tax Assistance Program works with our corporate partners to promote our services and recruit volunteers from within their various organizations. If you are interested in customized promotional volunteer materials for your office or coworkers, please contact us at (312) 466-0771.
